School Photo Speed Camera Enforcement
Sussex County Sheriff’s Office operates 2 school speed camera zones within Sussex County for the safety of our students. The first zone is located on US Route 40 (Sussex Drive) in front of the Sussex Central School District. The second is located on US Route 460, in the Town of Wakefield, in front of the Tidewater Academy School. The speed limit in these zones is reduced to 25mph during times of student activities such as the start and end of the school day and sporting events. The hours of camera operation are generally:
Sussex Central School Zone
7:00 am to 9:30 am
2:15 pm to 4:00 pm
Sussex Central School Zone
7:30 am to 8:30 am
2:15 pm to 3:30 pm
(Additional hours of activity are based on school events when students are present)
In the event a motorist receives a citation for speeding in these school zones, please note the following:

The citation does not get reported to DMV and, as such, will not affect your driving record.

These violations do not get reported to your insurance. The fine is a civil penalty only.

The Sheriff’s Office does not process payments of these fines. Please do not send payment to the Sheriff’s Office. The company that is contracted to process the payments is Blue Line Solutions, which is located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Please submit payment to them at the following address, which is also indicated on the photo speed citation:
